About Me
I am a freelance editor with a passion for helping to make your writing clear, concise, correct, and consistent—while still maintaining your or your organization’s voice and style. I have nearly a decade of writing and marketing experience in the nonprofit sector and a B.A. in Communications from the University of Colorado Denver. I spent the past six years working at The Theraplay Institute, an international nonprofit organization where one of my primary responsibilities was to develop, edit, and refine written communications. This included writing and editing content for the website, emails, newsletters, internal communications, social media posts, and professional development programs, as well as developing a functional style guide for all staff to use. I recently completed the University of California San Diego Copyediting Certificate program to help formalize my skills.
I have experience using the Chicago Manual of Style and the Associated Press Stylebook as well as incorporating in-house style guides, and am happy to incorporate other specialized style guides as needed into my work.
My Approach
I understand the importance of understanding the voice of the author, the purpose of the content, and the audience perspective when it comes to communication.
Education and Professional Development
My philosophy has always been to complement my professional work with continuous learning, refining my skills through certifications and educational content to stay at the forefront of industry standards.

Author Voice
In all of my projects, I will work to ensure the preservation of the voice of the author, whether it be an individual or an organization.
Professional Development
In order to serve clients most effectively, I will always seek to be informed of the latest developments in various style guides and broader American English language usage.
Giving Back
One of my personal goals has always been to use what I am good at to help make the world a better place. As such, EBA has openings for a limited number of pro bono projects supporting local nonprofit organizations each year.
